Sabronum-Bokruwaa, Ashanti Region — The quiet farming community of Bokruwaa in the Ahafo Ano South East District has been rocked by the cold-blooded killing of a 40-year-old mother of six, found dead in her bedroom from a gunshot wound to the head.

The tragedy unfolded in the early hours of Thursday, August 7, 2025. According to family accounts, the victim’s children discovered her lifeless body at dawn after she failed to rise at her usual time. She was lying in bed, her head resting on a pillow, with her mobile phone placed beside her. There were no signs of a struggle, and nothing in the room appeared to have been stolen.

Her husband was reportedly away from home when the shooting occurred. The victim’s brother, Emmanuel Kyei, has called on the Ghana Police Service to speed up their investigations and ensure that those responsible face justice. “This was not a robbery. Someone entered her room and shot her at close range while she slept. We need answers, and we need them quickly,” Kyei said.

Residents of Bokruwaa say the killing has shaken the sense of safety in the area. Known for its tight-knit community and modest farming lifestyle, the town is now gripped with fear, as locals question how an armed intruder was able to strike so brazenly without immediate detection.

Police from the Sabronum District Command have confirmed that investigations are underway. No arrests have yet been made, and the victim’s body remains at the scene pending transfer to the morgue for autopsy. Authorities have not ruled out any motives, but the lack of theft raises suspicions that the killing may have been targeted rather than opportunistic.

Community leaders are urging residents to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity, especially during night hours. The incident has reignited conversations about rural security, with many calling for increased police patrols and community watch systems to prevent similar tragedies.

For now, a family has been left shattered, six children have lost their mother, and an entire town is left demanding answers — and justice.
